Word Web Power
Struggling for the right word, and the online thesaurus isn’t helping? Try Visual Thesaurus. Type in a word and a virtual word web pops up. On the side, a color coded bar defines each word as a noun, adjective, verb or adverb. Some words provide voice pronunciation.
Click on a definition, and word relations pop up. Select one web word, and other word choices emerge. It’s really quite helpful to see related words, their definitions, etc. Settings can be adjusted to change font size, color and advance word choice. The online subscription offers word searches in four different languages, word lists, educator resources, word-of-the-day, and various writer support topics.
And for fun, you can subscribe to the Word-of-the-Day. I learn not only the definition, but a little history, interesting facts, and some quirky applications of different words.

Thanks for the review! Schools and districts can also purchase site licenses to Visual Thesaurus at a price much lower than $19.95/user. You can also use it with students lower than grade 5. We have plenty of elementary schools who love Visual Thesaurus!
